Corporation for National & Community Service
Created in 1993, the Corporation gives over 50,000 Americans an opportunity to improve their community through service as AmeriCorps members. AmeriCorps members are united by four common goals:
- Getting Things Done through direct and demonstrable service that helps solve community problems in the areas of education, public safety, environment and other human needs.
- Strengthening Communities by bringing together Americans of all ages and backgrounds in the common effort to improve our communities.
- Encouraging Responsibility by enabling members to explore and exercise their responsibilities towards their communities, their families and themselves.
- Expanding Opportunity by enhancing members’ educational opportunities, job experience, and life skills.
Children & Families Commission of Orange County
Created by the Proposition 10: California Children and Families Act in 1998 to provide all children 0-5 with a comprehensive, integrated system of early childhood development services. The Commission is focused on ensuring that all Orange County children Grow Up Healthy, Grow Up Strong, Grow Up Learning, and receive Quality Services. They oversee the Orange County programs as well as the Statewide First 5 VISTA project.
